Naina welcomes you to look at life from her perspective. ‘Hope On!’

My Take

Starting from the cover and title of the book are perfect according to the plot. But I personally feel cover can be much better with some creativity. The title of the book Hope and Sunshine gives a positive touch and seems to be a love story.

The book is a bag of emotions love, long-distance relationship, family, friendship, career, hope, life, fun, happiness, sadness, reunion, happy ending.

This is a story of main protagonist Naina Grover a Punjabi kudi from Delhi, is an independent and hardworking lady, working in Kolkata a rising star in her professional life and Arjun her cousin is always there to support her in thin and thick. From the last two years, she is in a long distance relationship with Veda Brahmin from Bihar and struggling to balance the relationship they both want to get married but things are not in their favor. Ved’s mother is diagnosed with a Brain tumor and he doesn’t have the boldness to present his relationship with Naina and wants to get married in front of the family in such a situation. Then our hero Aditiya, New HR Manager of her company, she gets attracted towards him in first sight but convinces her she in love with Ved.  Arjun and Aditiya were B-School friends and soon a trio gang was formed between Aditiya, Arjun and Naina. The trio gang together do a lot of fun together and Aditiya becomes a ray of hope for Naina and helped her in her tough times to fight back, on the other hand, Naina was the sunshine of his darken life. Hope And Sunshine together make a perfect match but haven’t revealed feeling their feelings with each other.  To know more about how Hope and Sunshine grab the book.

The language of the book is simple and lucid easy to understand for any kind of reader. The pace of the story is slow but keeps the reader’s engaging throughout the end. Characterization is done well. The narration of the story is engaging though predictable. But I want to know more about Arjun life story which I found missing.

The plot is basically simple, nothing new to give without any twist and turns but the story is quite relatable. One can easily relate and enjoy the journey with fictional characters and feel the turmoil, the happiness, the excitement and heartbreak all along with the character. Especially for a debutant, the way the emotions are expressed through different changes in nature is absolutely beautiful and nothing was forced anywhere.

I’ll recommend the book to beginners for a light read.

Overall Ratings 3/5 Star
